A staged reading of Tennessee Williams’s The Glass Menagerie produced by Center Stage at the Southampton Arts Center on Saturday, January 27th at 2:00 and 7:00 pm and on Sunday, January 28th at 2:00 pm. The Glass Menagerie is a memory play that premiered in 1944 and catapulted Tennessee Williams from obscurity to fame. A well-known and loved literary classic, it has strong autobiographical elements providing a multifaceted look at a dysfunctional family in the late 1930s. It delves into familial obligations, human frailty and the misplaced hopes and dreams for its characters.
