In honor of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s 112th anniversary on February 22nd, we’re highlighting this postcard from the early 1930s. It shows the hospital as it stood then, serving the growing Southampton community with the same care and dedication it continues to provide today.

Share your own vintage Southampton postcards in the comments and tag us with #WithLoveSHM. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram, or visit our website each week to see more about Southampton history.

Behind The Collection

Join us every Tuesday for Behind The Collection a new social media series spotlighting our hardworking staff and the artifacts that inspire their passion for preserving Southampton’s rich history.

From her office in our historic Rogers Mansion, Business Manager Sally Van Allan finds unexpected inspiration in a collection of handwoven baskets. Each delicate piece tells a story of craft, community, and daily life in early Southampton.

Experience her connection to these treasured artifacts in this week’s Behind The Collection on our Facebook and Instagram pages and on our website linked below!
