We had a full house in the barn for our recently opened This Land is Made for You and Me exhibit, when Dr. Georgette Grier-Key, executive director/chief curator at Eastville Community Historical Society, Brenda Simmons, founder of Southampton African American Museum, and Richard (Junie) Wingfield held a special panel discussion examining life in the farm labor camps in Southold.
Attendees were entranced by the poignant images and stories that shed light on this part of history. We are so thankful to all our panelists, especially Dr. Georgette Grier-Key, who personally curated the exhibit, which will be on display weekends through Sept. 15.
