Southold Historical Museum is pleased to announce that sponsorships are now open for our 5th Annual Pickleball Tournament, taking place Saturday, May 30, 2026 (rain date May 31). We invite you to support this popular community event as a sponsor or donor.

Your contribution helps advance the Museum’s mission to promote and preserve our region’s rich history, while providing valuable visibility for your business through event signage and promotional materials. Sponsorships begin at $250.

We’re thrilled to share that Southold Historical Museum will be featured on News 12! Be sure to catch the full episode airing Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. If you miss it, it will air again the following weekend, April 25 and 26, across News 12 Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Westchester, Hudson Valley, and Brooklyn.

Burger and A Beer Fundraiser at Greenport Harbor Brewing

Bring a friend and come hungry to Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. in Peconic between 4–8 PM on Wednesday, April 22. for a burger or cheeseburger, fries, and a beer for $35 per person (tip included). Proceeds benefit the Museum and its mission to preserve and share Southold’s history.

Purchase tickets online (small service fee applies), or stop by the Museum offices at 54325 Main Rd., Southold, Monday–Friday, 10 AM–2 PM.

Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event.

Special thanks to the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation for a grant supporting our Living History Revolutionary Encampment celebrating America’s 250th on July 11 at our Maple Lane Campus.

Join us all season for events and exhibits celebrating America’s 250th in Southold. We’re also proud to participate in Suffolk County’s 250th Anniversary Passport Book initiative and the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation History Hunt.

Join us for a special “Welcome Back” gathering as we kick off the season at the Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow volunteers, meet new faces, and celebrate the important role you each play in preserving and sharing our maritime history.

Enjoy light refreshments while catching up and getting ready for another great season at the lighthouse.

Southold Historical Museum’s “History in the Making” 2026 Pickleball Tournament is taking place May 30 at Tasker Park. Players may want to register early as the event typically sells out and the price will go up May 1. Limited slots available. Competitors can register for either the individual Round Robin Tournament from 9AM – 12PM or the Team Tournament from 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM. There is a special discount if you register for both.

All are welcome. There will be community fun and raffle prizes. This event benefits the mission of Southold Historical Museum.

Southold Historical Museum is seeking an organized, community-minded professional to support its public programs, educational initiatives, and volunteer engagement efforts. This role coordinates events, schedules, and outreach activities while working closely with volunteers and interns to create meaningful, hands-on experiences.

This is a part-time position (2–3 days per week), primarily office-based.

The Education & Programming Liaison collaborates with staff, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen the Museum’s connection to the community and bring Southold’s history to life.

Southold Historical Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Southold and the North Fork. We value integrity, stewardship, and public engagement, and look for team members who reflect those principles in their work.

Celebrating America’s 250th!

America’s 250th anniversary is being celebrated this year, and we’re excited to be part of the festivities. This summer, explore special exhibits and events highlighting Southold’s role in the Revolutionary era.

We’re proud to participate in Suffolk County’s 250th Anniversary Passport Book initiative and the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation History Hunt to help commemorate this significant moment in our nation’s history. We’ll also be celebrating “America’s Birthday” at a special Living History Day. Take a look at what we have planned!
