Historical Museum

Bring your friends and family to an evening of live music with the talented local band, Route 48, playing a mixture of Rock, Rhythm and Blues.

We invite you to take along your own chair or blanket and enjoy a fun-filled evening under the stars. There will also be a dance floor!

The event will take place from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on Aug. 23 on the beautiful grounds of the historic Maple Lane Complex. Admission is free, although donations are gladly accepted. Special thanks to Suffolk County Dept. of Economic Development and Planning.

No hard coolers, please.

Have you viewed the wonderful works of local art in our Ten Squared: After the Peconic Bay Impressionists online exhibit and sale?

At the turn of the 20th Century, artists were drawn to the East End for its light and beauty. In this exhibit, we feature the Peconic Bay Artists of the 21st Century.

Everyone is invited to view the artists’ work through August 31.

You may consider a purchase for $100, half of which will benefit Southold Historical Museum. Thank you.

We invited our summer intern, Casey Christensen, to learn more about the items in our collection and to create short videos for social media about something that interested her. Casey created this short video about an intricately detailed dress worn during a local production of The Girl of the Golden West.

The dress is part of our special summer exhibit: Southold Theatre: Vaudeville to Jesus Christ Superstar at the Maple Lane Complex Mayne Gallery, inside the Ann Currie-Bell House. This exhibit is included with admission, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4pm through September 15. We are so pleased by our intern’s interest and enthusiasm about our local history and our collections.

The drawing will be held on Sept. 30, 2024, and winners will be contacted. Proceeds benefit Southold Historical Museum.

You’re invited to participate in Southold Historical Museum’s “History in the Making Golf Tournament” taking place on Monday, Oct. 7 at North Fork Country Club in Cutchogue.

Golf Foursome or Individual Packages are available, including green fees, cart, locker, driving range, gift bag, dinner, and drinks. Contests will be held for hole-in-one, longest drive, etc. and awards given for 1st and 2nd Low Gross. Non-players may reserve the Dinner Only Package after the tournament at the Country Club with the golfers.

The tournament is in Honor Posthumously of Thomas P. Grattan, Sr.

(Rain date Oct. 10).
