International Museum Day

May 18, 2024 is International Museum Day,

Southold Historical Museum is welcoming visitors to the Maple Lane Complex

of historic buildings on a rare-off-season Saturday to help celebrate.

Southold Historical Museum maintains three locations, the Maple Lane Complex, the Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse (in the building which is owned by Southold Park District), and the Prince Building. While the Prince Building is open year-round, the other two sites are seasonal, based on both tourism season and the availability of volunteers to act as guides. International Museum Day offers a chance to visit the Maple Lane Complex before the true season opening which takes place on June 29 this year. Visitors are invited to explore the grounds which are chock-full of historic buildings and to enter the houses where guides are waiting to share their enthusiasm and knowledge of the very special history of Southold.

Deanna Witte-Walker, the Museum’s executive director, stated, “We hope that people will take advantage of this opportunity to visit our historic Complex and helps us celebrate Museum Day.”

The Maple Lane Complex will be open from 1-4pm on May 18, 2024. The address is 55200 Main Rd., Southold, NY. Admission is $5 per person or $10 per family (two adults of same household and their minor children).
