Southold Historical Museum is opening its doors to the Maple Lane Complex of historic buildings on

Saturday, May 18 in honor of International Museum Day.

This global event, organized by the International Council of Museums, celebrates museums as important places for cultural exchange, enrichment, and understanding.

From 1pm to 4pm, you can explore the complex and delve into the rich history of the area. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your friends and family while learning about the past. Admission is just $5pp or $10 for families.

Nautical Museum at Horton Point Opening May 25

Come view historic aerial photos of Southold at the “Soaring Over Southold” special exhibit, open weekends, 11:30 – 4:00, starting May 25 at the Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse. See how much our town has changed, or not changed, over the years. See if you can spot your house or business!

While here, explore thrilling exhibits detailing the early history of the lighthouse, its keepers, and the baymen, along with shipwrecks, whaling, and the famous Holland Submarine. Climb the 58-foot high tower! Admission is just $5 or $10/families. Note: Southold Park District lot charges $5 additional parking fee for non-residents.

Are you ready for an afternoon of fun and excitement? The Afternoon Competitive “History in the Making” Pickleball Tournament is just around the corner and you don’t want to miss out! Register now to secure your spot and be a part of this event. The tournament will start at 12:30 pm on June 1 (rain date June 2) at Tasker Park in Peconic. Hurry, the morning session sold out, so don’t wait to sign up! Whether you want to participate in the tournament or just come and watch, all are welcome. And don’t forget about the game day raffles!
