  Hailed as “a solid musician with a beautiful tone and impressively refined playing” (Bart van Oort, Dutch Harp Festival) harpist Ruth Bennett is highly regarded as a versatile and engaging artist and has delighted audiences throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe and Japan. She has performed with American Ballet Theater and The Metropolitan Opera, as guest principal harpist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (U.K.), soloist with the National Symphony of Peru, and played in several on and off Broadway shows. In 2019, she toured Mexico City and Europe with Icelandic singer Bjork as part of her Cornucopia ensemble. Recent engagements include performances with the New Jersey Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic.

A consistent prize winner in the competition circuit, Ruth won Third Prize at the 2nd Dutch International Harp Competition (2012). She also received First Prize in the 2009 edition of the National Harp Competition in Mexico City and awards at the American Harp Society National Contest. Born in England to a musical family, Ruth began her studies at the harp with her grandmother. She holds advanced degrees in Music Performance from Manhattan School of Music, Eastman, and Crane School of Music at S.U.N.Y Potsdam.
