They’ve Done It Again: the great Anna Calvi composed powerful music for Bob’s new production of Moby Dick at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. “Once Upon A Time / A Peglegged Man / A Cat / A Mouse / A Man / A Whale / The Drama is Done”… in fact, it’s just beginning. Melville’s legendary opus magnum is so much more than the simple story; and in Calvi / Wilson’s reading, the whole panorama of human experience comes alive on stage…

MADAMA BUTTERFLY: SUZUSHI HANAYAGI AND FRIDA PARMEGGIANI
Bob’s production of the Puccini favorite Madama Butterfly premièred first in 1992 and has been revived often since. This time at the Opéra-Bastille with completely reworked lighting. The work has become a “cult classic” among the operas directed by Bob; in part thanks to the special collaboration with two legendary geniuses: the late Japanese choreographer Suzushi Hanayagi, and Frida Parmeggiani, who designed the timeless costumes.

“HOLD THE FORT”: THREE TALL WOMEN RELOCATE TO ATHENS
Edward Albee’s quasi-absurdist play Three Tall Women, which opened last year in Piraeus, and played there for several months to sold-out audiences, is coming back for a limited run at the Olympia Theater in Athens later this fall, and next January in Thessaloniki. Like last time, it will be starring the three acclaimed Greek actresses, Reni Pittaki, Karofillia Karabeti and Loukia Michalopoulou.

METAPHYSICS ON TOUR: PESSOA TRAVELS ACROSS EUROPE
The “hypnotic landscape” (Il Messaggero)* of PESSOA—Since I’ve Been Me, which premièred in Florence last May, will soon be coming back; traveling to the Thé1âtre de la Ville in Paris, the city theaters in Trento and Trieste, and, eventually, to the Teatro São Luiz in Pessoa’s own hometown of Lisbon.
Next on: Nov. 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12-16 in Paris; Feb. 6-9 in Trento; Feb. 13-16 in Trieste; Mar. 7-8 in Lisbon.

MORE EVENTS
- The Tempest is currently on tour to Tbilisi, Georgia, with two shows only, Sept. 17-18, and can be seen back home in Sofia on Nov. 21.
- Be sure to catch the monumental projected installation STAR and STONE: a kind of love … some say at the Rouen Cathedral on Fridays and Saturdays at 9:30PM, only until Sept. 28.
- The acclaimed “operatic” exhibition A Chair And You is still on view at the Grassi Museum in Leipzig until Oct. 6.
- After a long hiatus, H—100 Seconds To Midnight will be revived at Hamburg’s Thalia Theater on Oct. 17-18 and Nov. 16-17.
- The Lithuanian National Opera in Vilnius is reviving Turandot with a largely new cast from Oct. 24 through 31.
- The one and only Isabelle Huppert will be in Seongnam, Korea, with the riveting monologue Mary Said What She Said for two performances only on Nov. 1-2.
- Audience favorite Dorian can be seen again in its Lithuanian version (with English titles) in Kaunas on Nov. 16-17.
- The exhibition of Bob’s glass “Wrestlers” at the Fondazione Berengo in Murano, Venice is still on view until Nov. 24.
