On Saturday, April 13, we celebrated the 2024 Design Awards recipients, including the second annual Community Award which was bestowed upon Southampton Town Supervisor Maria Z. Moore. Thank you to the Board, our MC, and Celebration Committee Members, and all who made the 2024 Design Awards such a wonderful showcase of design and architecture.  I would like to especially thank all who submitted projects for consideration and to the Jurors for their expertise and energy.

After two semesters of research and dedicated effort, students are ready to unveil their visionary plans for our community.  From traffic studies to housing solutions, join us as these bright minds delve into critical aspects of our community, such as historical context, regulatory codes, and environmental considerations. For me, these presentations are not merely presentations; they are glimpses into how this generation envisions the future of Sag Harbor.

Hosted by the AIA Peconic Women in Architecture Committee, this networking event is an ideal way to connect with fellow female-identifying professionals in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction.  Why did you pursue a career in this field?  Come prepared to share your “origin story” and hear the stories of your colleagues.  Wine and refreshments will be served and a professional photographer will take portraits of interested attendees.

Small Firm Community / Legal Presentation

AIA Peconic Members have shown interest in holding space for a subset of Members who would like advance the mutual interests of architects practicing in small firms.  To start, we plan to host a CEU presentation in June on general legal matters of particular interest to small firms.  Do you own or work for a small firm?  What other kinds of services, opportunities, or programs would you like to see developed locally?
