Invitation to 2024 Participants
Napkin sketching is a quick and informal way to capture ideas, concepts, or designs, often done on a simple napkin or any available surface.
It’s a spontaneous and creative process that allows architects and other creatives to express thoughts visually without the need for precise details or formal tools. This method is widely used in brainstorming sessions, meetings, and casual settings to communicate ideas effectively and inspire further development.
For our sketching prompts, we look towards the future! Starting with the familiar, we asked local designers to sketch their vision for a new and improved Bay Street Theater public courtyard. Another recognizable prompt was to draw Sag Harbor in the future. As you can tell, most of us think we will be under water! Something drawn close to home was to sketch your future residence – or dream home, rather. Our last prompt, to have some fun, was to draw a building that does not touch the ground.
Thank you for your participation!
