Exhibit Opening: Saturday, September 7 from 4:30 to 6pm
Exhibit on Display: Fridays and Saturdays, 11am to 3pm during September
Location: 2539 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, NY 11932
Throughout the summer of 2024 the Bridgehampton Museum has hosted several plein air workshops around the Bridgehampton/Sagaponack area led by teacher and artist Howard Rose. The workshops were made up of both locals and a few people from as far away as Nassau County who made the long journey out on weekends in the summer to paint our immaculate vistas.
The workshops took place at both the Nathaniel Rogers House and the William Corwith House, two properties managed by the museum. But classes also visited the Madoo Conservancy, Bridge Gardens, the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Center and the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center. “Each class there would be a few guests who had been to whatever location we were at, but at least 1/3 of each class had never heard of where we were meeting.” Says Connor Flanagan, Executive Director of the Bridgehampton Museum. “This has been a fantastic way to both continuing to foster the artistic culture of the Hamptons and to raise the awareness of all the amazing organizations right here in Bridgehampton.”
The exhibit will feature pieces from all of the participants that were started at some point this summer. We invite you to join us at the historic Nathaniel Rogers House to mingle with the artists and get to know the members of our local artist community. The show will be up for the month of September.

You may remember a few weeks ago we had a lecture live on Zoom with Sharon Atkins and David Corwith about the Corwith family. We know not everyone was able to attend but thankfully we recorded it and it is now live on our new YouTube Channel! As we move forward we are going to work on recording and making available as many of our programs as we can for you to enjoy not only during them, but well into the future. Please lend some support and give the video a link and subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

In honor of Nathaniel Rogers 237th birthday at the beginning of the month, we are asking for donations to help support our mission! This year we have fully revamped the museum and we hope you have been able to join us. So far this year we have:
- hosted 29 public programs with 16 more on the schedule as of now with probably a few more to be listed before the end of the year
- curated 7 new exhibits between the Rogers House and the Corwith House
- built a whole new website and set up a new donor management software to make donations more streamlined
- and hired new staff to help keep out museum operational
|
All donations will be 100% tax-deductible and will go towards supporting the great work that we do. This year we have installed several new exhibits and created a robust programming calendar. We couldn’t do this hard work without the support from people like you.
Click the link below to make an online donation or you can mail a check to PO Box 977, Bridgehampton, NY 11932.
The Nathaniel Rogers House will also be open on
Thursday, August 1st from 11am to 3pm in honor of his birthday.
Hope you will stop in and see what we are up to!
