Happy New Year!

The Bridgehampton Museum relies on you, our community, to help us achieve our mission of preservation, education, and stewardship. And with this year’s Annual Appeal you all did not disappoint! We were able to raise an amazing $44,076!

As we roll into 2025 we have a lot of great new things coming. Our Collections Manager, Tim Malyk, is working on updating our current exhibitions this winter while planning out a handful of new and exciting ones with various community members. Kaylee Mendelman our summer intern turned Museum Assistant has been working alongside our three winter season interns on the continual project of organizing our archive. And our blacksmith Ricky Bottenus and I have been making plans to update our wheelwright shop to make our blacksmithing demonstrations and classes more impactful.

From myself, our staff, the board of director and our numerous volunteers, I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported us this last year and hope we will see you all again soon!

A CALL FOR

HOLIDAY DECORATIONS

As we begin to clean up our holiday displays we are already thinking about December 2025! For the next holiday season we would love to put together a very Bridgehampton centric holiday tree and are asking if you have any personally significant ornaments or other holiday displays you may want to contribute to this project.

Before you pack things away for the year, please consider a donation to the museum for an indoor holiday display next year featuring special items from our local families. You can either donate or loan the items and include as much information as you can about the item for us to share with the community. If you are interested please email our Executive Director today!

Sit down with a staff member of the Bridgehampton Museum for an hour to tell your story. Share details about you or your family’s history here in Bridgehampton and the surrounding areas. We are looking to collect stories about major world events, family get togethers, immigration stories, local legends and more!

All of these sessions will be recorded with video and audio and will be made publicly available on our YouTube Channel and will be added to our Archive for future generations. All participants will be required to sign a video and audio release form.
