A REASON TO SMILE

In 2024 The Players took their outstanding show Turtles on the Tarmac on the road to a sellout audience at the North Fork Community Theatre! The Explorers continued their travels to an array of cultural organizations on the East End — the Greek Food Festival, Long Beach, and so many other fun places! A highlight this year was a spooky time at the 2024 Halloween Party. Your support means so much to all of us. Thank you!

For those of you who do not know a whole lot about us, we are over two dozen actors and artists living throughout the East End. Collectively we have special challenges — down syndrome, autism, bi-polar disorder, learning and physical needs. East End Special Players is our theater company. We meet weekly to create our own original productions. We have been performing since 1985! In 2014 we created The Explorers program. The Explorers meet weekly to share friendship, meet artists, make art, make food and explore the variety of cultural offerings on the East End.

In 2025 – with your help – we will present our next production – a murder mystery dramedy! And we will continue to make friends and art with the many talented artists who provide expertise and inspiration.

Please help to keep us performing as we have done on the East End for 38 years.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

—————————–

Dear Friend,

———

We as a Board find so much joy in celebrating our differently-abled players and explorers. EESP is where the voices from this often hidden sector of our community can come together to be represented and expressed.

Thanks to your support, 2024 was another successful year. The performance of Turtles on the Tarmac at the North Fork Community Theatre was stunning. The troupe has so much passion and commitment under the remarkable leadership of Artistic Director Jacqui Leader. They are now in rehearsals for their next unique production, a who-done-it born out of their own fertile imaginations.

The Explorers continue to delight us all with their imaginative adventures and creative arts. They meet once a week for meals, field trips, and workshops which go far is helping to build social skills, creative thinking, and confidence through group collaboration. Today we reach out to ask for your continued generosity. Our goal: $30,000!

We need your support to keep the momentum going!  Your donations go directly to the very basic needs of transportation, food, supplies and staffing. But we have visions of growth as well. For instance, in 2025 we want to reach out to other regional arts and special needs organizations to showcase and perhaps partner in our efforts.

We hope you will join us in supporting this worthy organization. Any amount is greatly appreciated. The link below makes donating easy. And please know the Players and Explorers are so appreciative.

Wishing you all Happy Holidays,
