One of the most special moments of the Summer Soirée each year is the presentation of the Linda Rie Cohen Rising Star Award, a $10,000 unrestricted merit award recognizing an exceptional local young artist.
This year’s recipient is Henry Broidy, a 17 year-old multi-instrumentalist from Hampton Bays, selected by an independent committee from more than 40 applications.
The award was established by longtime East End Arts supporter and former Board member Frederic Cohen in memory of his late wife, Linda Rie Cohen, a lover of the arts and the North Fork. East End Arts has been proud to facilitate the award since 2022.
This year, the moment will carry even more meaning as we honor Fred’s memory and his extraordinary commitment to East End Arts and local arts community. For this tribute, Henry is joined by past Rising Star Award winners for a special performance.
