Country Fair Is Coming! Country Fair Is Coming!
Yes, we are so excited about Country Fair that we are saying it twice, and it is just days away (September 28 – 29)! If you have been before, you know there will be historic house tours, tons of children’s activities, live music, traditional crafts and other demonstrators, unique vendors and food trucks to name just a few of the attractions. Our neighbors at Long Island Antique Power Association will have sawmill and blacksmith demonstrations as well as a children’s train ride, truck pulls and other offerings.
New this year will be a Revolutionary War encampment by the 3rd NY Regiment 1775, colonial cooking by Diane Schwindt, a presentation by the Islip Horsemen’s Association Spirit of Long Island Mounted Drill Team and a traditional post-and-beam building demonstration by Kevin Durkin of Heritage Restorations.
Fun for all and all for a good cause to support our mission to take Long Island back to its family farming roots and explore their relevance today.
For a full schedule of activities, head to Country Fair Schedule.
We could still use a few volunteers. In addition to our everlasting appreciation, volunteers get free admission to the Fair. Students will receive community service certificates. For more information and to volunteer, email CF Volunteer.
