How the Heckscher Museum of Art Acquires New Artworks:

“New acquisitions are considered for many reasons. Do they fulfill the Museum mission? Are they from significant artists – perhaps a Long Islander? Does it represent a unique process or speak to the growth of an artist? Does it close a gap in our collection?” explains Lisa Chalif, Heckscher Museum Curator.
