VINTAGE FINDS

Above, one of the two Peabody SHOP cases now holds vintage items — late 19th-c blue & white souvenir Rowland & Marsellus / Staffordshire plates, $40 each, coin-silver spoons $35-$45, a ship-in-a-bottle whaling scene carved in cork and produced in Portugal $35, & a 1896 medallion commemorating the City’s 250th anniversary $50.
————
The three cast bronze oyster shell bottle openers were made by a RISD artist and are not vintage items $40.

Many thanks!
Above, the big sellers this season are our striped candles.
Clockwise from lower right: grey & dark grey striped candles and grey & dark grey candle holders from the UK: sustainable, eco, and fair-trade — the candles are soy-based; fair-trade knitted alpaca octopi, crabs, seals, fish, and narwhals from Peru; solid red soy candles with a black tin base; four coin-silver spoons — the two at left made by NL’s Daniel Hempsted ca. 1852-1882; Mass Audubon’s diminutive classic Ring Standard calendar — a personal favorite — first created by Louise B. Graves in 1897; and cast flat pewter maritime ships and lighthouses from Germany.

Visit inside New London Harbor Lighthouse.

We give tours year-round.

Meet at the lighthouse, then climb 116 steps to the lantern room — all the while learning about the 260-year history of Harbor Light, one of the oldest lighthouses in the country, and the tallest on Long Island Sound. The views at the top are spectacular!
————
The visit takes around 45 minutes. Everyone uses hand sanitizer and we all wear masks. Tours for one small Covid pod of up-to four people may be arranged by emailing nlmaritimedirector@gmail.com.
————
Suggested donations are $35 for adults, $30 for NLMS members, & $25 for youth 7-to-18 years old.
