FILM | 5th Annual Black Film Festival: Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land co-presented with the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center
FRIDAY, AUGUST 23 at 6 PM ————
Join us this Friday for the 5th Annual Black Film Festival, Part I, featuring Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land. By 1910, Black Americans had amassed 60 million acres of farmland. In 2023, that number has dropped to 3.9 million acres. The new, stirring documentary, from Emmy Nominated Director Eternal Polk and Executive Producer Al Roker, examines the cause and effects of the issues and experiences of people impacted by land loss. Before the screening, join us at 5 PM for a Museum tour, led by Chief Curator Corinne Erni. The screening is followed by a reception and discussion. Register today!

FILM & TALK | Mary Heilmann: Waves, Roads & Hallucinations presented with Hamptons International Film Festival
FRIDAY, AUGUST 30 at 6 PM
Join us for a special screening of Mary Heilmann: Waves, Roads & Hallucinations, presented in collaboration with Hamptons International Film Festival. This documentary offers a visually immersive journey through the artist’s life. The screening is followed by a Q&A with Producer Jacqueline Sischy and Chief Curator Corinne Erni, as well as a reception and poster reveal for the 32nd Annual Hamptons International Film Festival, created by Heilmann.

CREATE | Imagination Play Project Pop-Up with Play Curator

From 10 AM to 1 PM on Monday, join the Imagination Play Project in a free pop-up workshop on the Parrish’s terrace and build using recycled materials. Children of all ages and abilities are invited to participate, where they can explore light, shape, shadows, and color with Linda White, founder and creator of the Imagination Play Project.

MUSIC | Summer Jazz on the Terrace co-presented with Jazz at Lincoln Center & Hamptons JazzFest
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 at 6 PM
Summer Jazz on the Terrace concludes with a performance by the Sarah Hanahan Quartet! Hanahan is an up-and-coming jazz saxophonist in New York City and a graduate of the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music as well as The Juilliard School. She has studied with well-known performers Abraham Burton, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Billy Drummond, and Marc Cary. Buy your tickets now for this exciting performance!

ENJOY | Backgammon Sets by exhibiting artist Sam Moyer in the Creativity Lounge
In conjunction with the exhibition, Sam Moyer: Ferns Teeth, the artist has created backgammon sets for visitors to enjoy in the Museum’s Creativity Lounge, free to visit and open most Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, as well as occasional Saturdays. To learn more about the origin of Moyer’s backgammon board series, check out the Architectural Digest’s list of discoveries for August. Sam Moyer: Ferns Teeth is on view now through September 29.
