Spring Ephemerals – Early Color in the Garden
Saturday, April 12, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Winds Way Farm 73 Winds Way, Laurel NY 11948
Have you ever wondered what an ephemeral was? The botanical term indicates a plant that lasts for a very short time and grows only during brief periods when conditions are favorable. This rather prosaic definition misses the magic of these beautiful small plants. They may appear fleetingly, but they are harbingers of a new season of growth and renewal. Come join Nancy and Richard of Winds Way Farm to explore the many native ephemerals, from Blood Root to Yellow Trout Lillies, as well as some of the Eurasian species that populate.
$10/person. Space is limited, and reservations are required. Heavy rain cancels.
