As the year end approaches, I want to thank you personally for helping us bring some wonderful arts experiences to the Village of Southampton. I hope you were able to join us to sing along on Piano Night or listen in awe to the Harlem Gospel Choir. Perhaps you joined us and Harry for A Moment in Time: Iconic Images by Harry Benson or took a life drawing class in our studio. We know we play a key part in the life of the village and the town, but we also hope we play a role in yours, bringing joy, comfort, fun or enlightenment.

TALK: COMMUNITY COVERSATIONS: THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPACT OF ART AND CULTURE ON LONG ISLAND
Monday, December 18 @ 3 PM
To learn about arts and culture’s important economic engine and a quality of life for Long Island and more, please join Randy Cohen, Vice President of Research with Americans for the Arts, when he makes a public presentation on December 18 as part of the “AEP6 on the Road to Prosperity Tour.”
This event is intended for audiences including, but not limited to: arts and culture coordinators, tourism providers and coordinators, economic development managers, foundation and funding managers, business managers centered on hospitalities, individual creatives, elected officials and municipal decision-makers.

STUDIO: FIGURE DRAWING WITH LINDA
Friday Dec 15 @ 1 PM

Working from a live model, artist Linda Capello’s figure drawing workshop will explore techniques of line, mass, gesture, proportion, and foreshortening, starting with short poses and working towards one long pose.
Class is limited to 15 participants, and each student will receive personal attention and detailed instruction. Dry mediums such as soft vine charcoal, conte, or graphite, and kneaded erasers, and 14″x17″ or larger pads, are requested.
