Onna House: Then and Now

Join the AIA Peconic Women in Architecture Committee for an evening of learning and connection. Nibbles and drinks will be served. All ticket revenue will be donated to Onna House to support their mission. This course takes attendees on a design and restoration journey. Designed in 1962 by renowned architect Paul Lester Wiener, the Onna House was at risk of demolition when its current owner purchased it with a vision. In 2021, architect Christine Harper led the building’s restoration to preserve the mid-century home while maintaining the integrity of Paul Lester Wiener’s original architecture. The property owner and non-profit founder Lisa Perry with the restoration architect will lead the house tour and discussion exploring how creative architectural interventions can honor a building’s past while bringing it into the present.
