Artist and teacher Howard Rose will be leading a series of Plein Air Painting Classes for the summer of 2025 with the Bridgehampton Museum. Plein Air painting has a lengthy history on the East End of Long Island with the Shinnecock Hills Summer School of Art being one of the first and most popular plein air painting schools in America that had William Merritt Chase as its director. These classes are for artists of all abilities from beginners to professionals and will take place at a series of beautiful and culturally significant locations throughout the East End.
At the culmination of this program, The Bridgehampton Museum will be hosting an exhibition of works begun during one of the Summer 2025 sessions. The exhibition will be on view this fall and will feature one work per participant. Join us in expanding your artistic abilities while making a direct connection to the history of The Hamptons this summer!
