Tuesdays, 9 AM.   Maintenance Hikes (2 – 4 miles)

Weather permitting, EHTPS conducts weekly Tuesday morning maintenance hikes, preparing for other hikes on our schedule and keeping as much trail as possible clear and blazed. No experience necessary, and new volunteers are always welcome. Bring a lopper, trimmer, or handsaw if available.

Saturday November 2, 2024, at 10 AM.   Jacob’s Farm To Pussy’s Pond (3.5 Miles)

Enjoy an autumn walk to water, starting in the woods of the Jacob’s Farm Preserve in The Springs, East Hampton.  We will amble to the Pussy’s Pond bridge at the edge of the Accabonac Creek tidewater and return.  Meet 10 AM. at Jacob’s Farm trailhead, a road shoulder pull-off on Red Dirt Road about 1,000 feet east of Accabonac Road.  Distance: ~3-1/2 miles, moderate pace, flat.  Bring snacks & liquids.

Saturday November 16, 2024, at 10 AM. Hither Hills (3.5 miles)

This hilly, approximately 3.5 miles relaxed-pace hike takes us through the woods of Hither Hills State Park, celebrating its 100th anniversary. It features Napeague Bay and Fresh Pond views. Perhaps some foliage. Meet at 10 AM at the overlook on Montauk Point State Boulevard, a.k.a. Rt. 27, Montauk. Bring water.

Saturday November 23, 2024, at 12 Noon.  Barcelona Point Litter Clean Up

Join with EHTPS in this collaborative community event with the East Hampton Litter Action Committee and East Hampton Sportsman’s Alliance.  Meet 12 Noon at the Sag Harbor Golf Course parking lot.

Saturday, November 30, 2024 – 10:00 AM – Hither Woods (5 Miles)

Explore the eastern part of Hither Woods, including Laurel Canyon, Panorama, and Riah’s Ridge, before swinging back to the coast at Fort Pond Bay.  The leader will fill you in on the history of this part of Montauk and what it took to save Hither Woods from development.  Meet 10 AM at Rod’s Valley, parking area at the west end of Navy Road, Montauk.  Distance: ~5 miles, moderate pace.  Bring snacks & liquids.
