Four insightful and entertaining talks will feature Chef Daniel Humm, Giada De Laurentiis, Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald of Levain Bakery, and Chef Marcus Samuelsson with architect David Rockwell.

PAM WEEKES AND CONNIE MCDONALD OF LEVAIN BAKERY

Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald, friends and accomplished bakers, founded Levain Bakery in New York City in 1995. Their famous 6-ounce cookies, originally created as a high-energy snack for their triathlon training, have become renowned and are sold at multiple bakery locations, including Wainscott. Learn more about the history behind the famous cookie and the early days of Levain. And yes, there will be cookies for everyone!

MARCUS SAMUELSSON

WITH DAVID ROCKWELL

For the final Stirring the Pot of the season, Florence Fabricant’s guest will be TV personality, philanthropist, and newly inducted Guild Hall Academy of the Arts member Marcus Samuelsson. Born in Ethiopia and raised in Sweden, Samuelsson—who first made his name as the executive chef at Aquavit—is known for his African and Scandinavian-influenced cuisine. He will discuss his global restaurant portfolio, including his latest venture, Metropolis, designed by David Rockwell, FAIA, who will join the conversation as a special guest.

FLORENCE FABRICANT

Florence Fabricant, a food and wine writer for the New York Times, contributes the weekly Front Burner and Off the Menu columns, is a member of the wine panel and writes the pairings column for the wine tastings. She frequently writes features that appear in the Food section and also covers food and travel elsewhere in the Times. She has written 13 cookbooks, including “The Ladies Village Improvement Society Cookbook: Eating and Entertaining in East Hampton” to celebrate the 125th anniversary of LVIS, published by Rizzoli. Other books include “Wine with Food,” based on The New York Times pairings columns and written with Eric Asimov and “The City Harvest Cookbook,” both published by Rizzoli. She began her career as a food writer in East Hampton, contributing the column “In Season” in the East Hampton Star. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Smith College, she has an M.A. in French from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. She holds L’Ordre National du Mérite from the French government, is on the Board of Trustees of Guild Hall, and is a member of Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America.
