Please join theater-artists and community activists, Minerva Perez and Margarita Espada, for a conversation on their shared practice, and a preview of their 2025 Guild Hall Community Artists-in-Residence project.

As 2025 Community Artists-in-Residence, Espada and Perez will develop a community-generated/devised multi-media theater piece based on the play “Fuenteovejuna” by the Spanish playwright, Lope de Vega.

The conversation will focus on the adaption of this work, and ways in which community members can get involved as actors, designers, stagehands, and more.

Únase a las artistas de teatro y activistas comunitarias Minerva Pérez y Margarita Espada para conversar sobre su práctica compartida y ver un avance de su proyecto de Artistas en Residencia Comunitarios del Guild Hall 2025.

Como Artistas en Residencia Comunitarios 2025, Espada y Pérez desarrollarán una pieza de teatro multimedia generada/ideada por la comunidad basada en la obra “Fuenteovejuna” del dramaturgo español Lope de Vega.

La conversación se centrará en la adaptación de esta obra y en las formas en que los miembros de la comunidad pueden participar como actores, diseñadores, tramoyistas y más.
