The Nonprofit Resource Hub and Molloy University are measuring the collective economic impact of nonprofits across Nassau and Suffolk. Better regional data means stronger evidence for funding, advocacy and public-policy conversations, including the ones affecting arts and culture.

PEACE Forward Conference
PEACE Forward is a FREE two-day conference hosted by Patchogue Arts Council that brings together educators, artists, cultural organizations, policymakers, and funders to share outcomes from the PEACE Project and explore sustainable models for arts-in-education partnerships. Taking place August 17-18 at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, the conference centers student voice, highlights research and case studies, and fosters exchange across the arts and education community. On Day 2, LIAA Executive Director Lauren Wagner presents a State of the Arts look at Long Island policy and funding.

A new SMU DataArts study followed arts organizations in 10 cities from 2019 to 2024. Cities that sustained or grew local arts funding saw markedly stronger organizational recovery than places that cut it.
Why we’re sharing it: It’s a useful, data-backed argument for something Long Island’s cultural sector knows firsthand: consistent public investment matters.
