It’s a big summer — and year — here at MASS MoCA as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary and launch into the next 25 years and beyond. Today, we’re excited to announce our Summer 2024 programming, complete with a 25th Anniversary Community Celebration (with free gallery admission May 25 and a performance by Academy Award®-nominated Son Lux); comedy by Dulcé Sloan; upcoming exhibitions by Osman Khan, Chris Doyle, and Steve Locke; and North Adams mainstays Wilco’s Solid Sound, FreshGrass, and The Chalet; just to name a few.

| Summer brings Osman Khan‘s Road to Hybridabad (opening August 24), in which the artist re-reads the magical and fantastical figures found in folktales and lore — with a particular focus on those from South Asia, the Middle East, and other Muslim and immigrant traditions — and interprets them through contemporary technologies and concerns; and New York-based artist Steve Locke‘s the fire next time (opening August 3), a meditation on uniquely American forms of violence directed at Black and queer people; among a packed exhibition calendar of other new and newly reopened installations.

Gallery Encounters

| Catch a catalogue launch & activation with artist Amy Yoes and Gabriel Sacco, MASS MoCA Creative Producer (August 10) and the final tally of kelli rae adams‘ installation Forever in Your Debt (June 8), in which the artist will fill the final vessels, and subsequently tally the collected coins. Additionally, join a conversation with artist Osman Khan (August 25), a film series (July 13), and installation activations on the day of each new moon in Like Magic. |
