MASS MoCA After Hours
Celebration of EJ Hill: Brake Run Helix
Saturday, January 13, 5–8pm
|
Join us for a celebration of EJ Hill: Brake Run Helix honoring regional BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists, writers, and performers in the Berkshires. Brake Run Helix is a celebratory work by EJ Hill examining how those from marginalized backgrounds explore joy and play — and in that spirit, we bid it farewell (closing February 11) with a BIPoC mixer in the exhibition’s gallery including dancing and activities from the diaspora.

EJ Hill: Brake Run Helix
On view through February 11

“An unconventional and ambitious undertaking for both the artist and the institution.” – Hyperallergic
Filling MASS MoCA’s 100-yard-long Building 5 gallery, Brake Run Helix is EJ Hill’s largest installation to date. The artist’s exhibition is an offering to our community — not only to experience the individual and collective joy of the roller coaster at its center, but also to activate the exhibition’s stage through conversations, performances, and gatherings in the spirit of joy.
Reservations to ride Brava! are on sale for the duration of the exhibition, so be sure to reserve yours today.
