Ecuador refinances over $1B in debt to help fund Amazon conservation
The Republic of Ecuador recently announced a debt conversion facilitated by The Nature Conservancy to advance the Amazon Biocorridor Program, securing about $460 million to conserve land and freshwater ecosystems. It’s the largest amount raised for conservation in any debt conversion, and marks TNC’s first land-based Nature Bonds Program.
