SIMON WARANCH:

PATTERNS

Patterns is an activation of the Pollock-Krasner House by Dallas, TX artist Simon Waranch.

Metal, wood, and blown and cast glass sculptures populate the first floor kitchen, dining room, and parlor of the home, organically interspersed in the historic setting.

Just as a house guest temporarily augments the atmosphere of a living space, allowing us to see our home through fresh eyes, so too do Waranch’s sculptures mingle in and with the space.

See the activation on Saturday, November 09 from 4 – 6 PM. The artist will be present.

A special catalogue for this exhibition was made possible in part thanks to the generous support of Bonner David Galleries New York.

PICTURING LOSS: ART AND BEREAVEMENT

Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, leads an informal presentation about how artists express grief through painting. A discussion of Lee Krasner’s painting following Jackson Pollock’s untimely death is discussed along with artists Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and others. Each artwork serves as a springboard for discussion about the grieving process and participation is welcomed.

This program is inspired, in part, by Joyce’s loss of her brother as a teenager and the discovery of an enormous strength she found through art.

This special workshop is given as we approach the Holidays as this season can be especially difficult for people who are grieving. This program is free with registration.
