Dream On! Surrealism Workshop
Tuesday, December 17, 2:00pm – 3:15pm
How can our dreams, unconscious mind, and imagination be expressed in art? Explore the
tenets of Surrealist art and its impact on Jackson Pollock. Following the presentation,
participants will be guided in Surrealist writing and art activities designed to access the
unconscious mind and unleash creativity. Have pencil and paper on hand.

Art of Recovery
Thursday, December 19, 2:00pm – 3:00pm
This session is designed to dispel myths about substance abuse and creativity. Joyce Raimondo presents Jackson Pollock’s alcoholism and its impact on his art and life. Pollock and his passenger Edith Metzger’s deaths were caused by a car accident as a result of Pollock driving while intoxicated in 1956. Following the art presentation, Joyce will discuss resources for recovery from alcoholism, and participants are invited to share art that addresses recovery from substance abuse.

Paint a Rainbow Workshop

Discover how Alma Thomas, Ellsworth Kelly, and other painters picture the spectrum of rainbow colors in art. Then create your own unique rainbow painting. This program is designed for children, teens and adults. Have paint or drawing supplies on hand.
