We hope you can join us at our 2024 Benefit Party on Friday, June 21st at the spectacular Webb Institute! We are thrilled to host our benefit party guests at a venue that is a recipient of our 2022 Preservation Award for the historically sensitive design by Bentel & Bentel Architects of the Couch Academic Center.
 
Tickets and sponsorship packages are still available for purchase online. Don’t miss out on this fabulous event – the party sells out every year!
 
The Annual Country House Party is our principal fundraiser of the year and instrumental to funding initiatives such as the Jupiter Hammon Project and Endangered Historic Places, and our core programs including advocacy services, public education, exhibitions, and stewardship of our historic houses and collections.

“The Braes”

Once a Country House
Built in 1912, “The Braes” was the largest of six country houses at a family compound on the Long Island Sound at Dosoris Point established by Charles Pratt, the founder of Pratt Institute. Photo by Kyle Koleda.Now a School

Take a Guided Tour

Guests can explore the property on their own and Bentel & Bentel Architects will lead tours of the original main building and the Couch Academic Center addition.

Guided tours are scheduled throughout the evening at 6:45, 7:00, 7:20 and 7:35. To participate, please sign-up for a tour slot at the party check-in desk.

Meet the Evening’s Musical Artists

The Benefit Party will kick off with blues, pop ballads and instrumentals performed by Broadway World award winning artist and Long Island based performer Christen Dekie. Music will continue throughout the evening with DJ Emmanuel Jules.

In addition to hors d’oeuvres and an open bar, guests can sample a wine selection made possible in part by Total Wine & More. Preservation Long Island’s staff “mixologists” have also created a special signature drink menu for the event!

 Get a Sneak Peak of Our Newest Book!

The cover art for Preservation Long Island’s newest publication Promoting Long Island: The Art of Edward Lange, 1870–1889 will be on display at the event. The book focuses on the life, work, and career of one of Long Island’s most prolific artists of the late nineteenth century. The new hardcover publication arrives in September 2024 and is available for pre-order at the party.
