Historic Boathouses of the North Shore
Between the 1890s and the late 1920s, more than 1,300 estates were built along the Gold Coast of Long Island. In addition to the grand houses themselves, these estates included many outbuildings, such as boathouses, that linked daily life on the estate to the shoreline and the Sound beyond.
