Step into the late nineteenth-century world of Edward Lange (1846–1912) and follow his journey as an immigrant artist encountering a Long Island rapidly changing around him. His artwork circulated within Long Island and beyond, drawing in tourists seeking recreational fun in towns along the North and South Shores.
This three-dimensional exhibit of watercolors, photographs, and historical objects from our collection and on loan from collections across Long Island, is inspired by the upcoming release of Preservation Long Island’s latest publication of the same name, which presents over two years of new research into Edward Lange’s life and work.
Exhibition Opening Day treats baked by Brooklyn Born Bakery, serving Huntington Village and surrounding communities.
