Join us July 1 as we toast the opening of our newest special exhibition, Wood and Water: Furniture on Long Island, 1660-1860. Organized as part of Preservation Long Island’s 250th anniversary celebrations, this exhibition explores a rich cross-section of Long Island society before the Civil War.

Director of Education and Public Programs

Jenna Fabrizio, our new Director of Education and Public Programs, joins us from the Heurich House Museum in D.C. where she was their Curator and past Director of Education and Operations. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and has over 10 years working at historic sites. She has served as an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer at American University teaching how to reinterpret historic house museums. Jenna is a member of the Board of Directors of the DC Archives Foundation, where she serves as their Secretary. Welcome Jenna!

Zach Studenroth has returned to Preservation Long Island as our new Director of Preservation. Zach is one of Long Island’s most distinguished historians and historic preservationists, with a career spanning decades, and which actually started at Preservation Long Island. Along the way, he led institutions including the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk, CT; the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum; and the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council, all while building an exceptional record of grant writing, publication, and educational programming along the way. Welcome back, Zach!

Long Island History Hunt Challenge

Sherwood-Jayne Farm has been designated as a 2026 Long Island History Hunt site. Preservation Long Island’s historic property is one of 26 participating museums, landmarks, and historical sites throughout the region with ties to the Revolutionary War. Visit Sherwood-Jayne now through September 30, 2026, to take the selfie challenge and be eligible to win prizes. Visit all sites to be entered into the grand prize drawing for a $1,776 cash prize.
