Sites in Brentwood, Huntington, Kings Park, North Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Riverhead, and Smithtown are included in Preservation Long Island’s 2023 list of Endangered Historic Places.

Properties were nominated to the list by concerned citizens and groups on Long Island and selected for their overall historic significance, severity of the threat, and impact the listing will have on efforts to protect the nominated site.

Preservation Long Island invites all Long Islanders to join us in celebrating and supporting the important sites on the Endangered Historic Places for 2023:

  • King’s Park Psychiatric Center (Kings Park)
  • Stepping Stones Lighthouse (Kings Point)
  • Coindre Hall Boathouse (Huntington)
  • Eliphalet Whitman House (Smithtown)
  • Mill Pond House (Oyster Bay)
  • Shutt House (Brentwood)
  • Perkins Electric Generating Plant (Riverhead)
