Preservation Long Island: Victorian Holiday Walking Tour, Dec. 17th | Annual Appeal

Sites in Brentwood, Huntington, Kings Park, North Hempstead, Oyster Bay, Riverhead, and Smithtown are included in Preservation Long Island’s 2023 list of Endangered Historic Places.

Properties were nominated to the list by concerned citizens and groups on Long Island and selected for their overall historic significance, severity of the threat, and impact the listing will have on efforts to protect the nominated site.

Preservation Long Island invites all Long Islanders to join us in celebrating and supporting the important sites on the Endangered Historic Places for 2023:

King’s Park Psychiatric Center (Kings Park)
Stepping Stones Lighthouse (Kings Point)
Coindre Hall Boathouse (Huntington)
Eliphalet Whitman House (Smithtown)
Mill Pond House (Oyster Bay)
Shutt House (Brentwood)
Perkins Electric Generating Plant (Riverhead)

Cold Spring Harbor Gallery Open this Sunday!

Our Exhibition Gallery in the Old Methodist Church building on Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor is a stop on the Victorian Holiday Walking Tour hosted by The Whaling Museum & Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor on Sunday, December 17th at 3pm and 5pm (registration required).

Our Exhibition Gallery will be open from 12 noon to 5 pm for tour participants and the public to step inside and view selected art and artifacts from our permanent collection!
