A staged reading of Tennessee Williams’s The Glass Menagerie produced by Center Stage at the Southampton Arts Center on Saturday, January 27th at 2:00 and 7:00 pm and on Sunday, January 28th at 2:00 pm. Joan Bennett Lyons directs. The cast includes Tamara Froebel Salkin as Amanda, Zianya Quiroz Kane as Laura, Vincenzo Harty as Tom, Kieran Conlon as Jim and Kristin Whiting as the host.

The Glass Menagerie is a memory play that premiered in 1944 and catapulted Tennessee Williams from obscurity to fame. A well-known and loved literary classic, it has strong autobiographical elements providing a multifaceted look at a dysfunctional family in the late 1930s. It delves into familial obligations, human frailty and the misplaced hopes and dreams for its characters.
