This weekend’s Autumn Antiques, Fine Art, and Crafts Fair at Southold Historical Museum’s Maple Lane Campus, 55200 Main Road, Southold has been postponed to Oct. 24 and 25 due to potentially bad weather.

Presented in partnership with the Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild, this popular two-day event features a wide variety of vendors offering antiques, fine art, pottery, photography, handmade crafts, vintage finds, and more. Visitors can also enjoy live music throughout the weekend.

Admission is $5 for adults and includes a complimentary raffle ticket.

Southold Historical Museum was pleased to welcome the trustees of Brecknock Hall to our Archive last week to take a closer look at a collection we acquired together.

The collection, purchased jointly by Southold Historical Museum, Brecknock Hall, and Peconic Landing, includes historic maritime and whaling records documenting the North Fork’s rich history.

It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our organizations together, explore these materials, and talk about their importance to understanding the region’s past. We look forward to continuing to preserve and share this important part of North Fork history.

Volunteers are Invited to a Special Thank You Breakfast

Southold Historical Museum invites all 2026 volunteers to a special Volunteer Breakfast at First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Join us for a delightful morning honoring your dedication. Enjoy a buffet featuring assorted goodies. This private event is our way of saying thank you to all of our wonderful 2026 volunteers!

Join us Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1–2:30 p.m. at the Horton Point Lighthouse Nautical Museum, 3575 Lighthouse Rd., Southold, for a FREE performance by the Cadet Chorale from the United States Coast Guard Academy.

The Cadet Chorale is a select ensemble of Coast Guard Academy cadets who perform throughout the country and at historic locations along the East Coast. Their program in Southold will feature anthems, folk songs, memorial music, and sea shanties.

Please RSVP in case of uncertain weather or a venue change. Bring a chair.

Southold Historical Museum invites artists to participate in its upcoming Ten Squared online exhibit and sale titled, Season of Wonder: Art Inspired by Beauty, Curiosity, and Joy.

This non-juried exhibition welcomes all mediums and accepts up to three 10” x 10” works per artist. Each piece will sell for $100, with proceeds split equally between the artist and Southold Historical Museum.

Finished works and submission forms are due November 2–13. The online exhibit and sale runs December 1–18, 2026, just in time for holiday shopping.

Celebrating America’s 250th!

America’s 250th anniversary is being celebrated this year, and we’re excited to be part of the festivities. While our special exhibits highlighting Southold’s role in the Revolutionary era are closed, there are still a few more events through the end of the year.

We’re proud to participate in Suffolk County’s 250th Anniversary Passport initiative and the Redcoats and Rebels History Hunt Challenge to commemorate this significant moment in our nation’s history. Take a look at how you can participate.
