Join us Saturday, July 18 at 1:00 PM at the Maple Lane Campus Effers Collection Center for a special presentation titled “Red, White, and Beautiful” with mixed-media textile artist Amy Orr.
Orr transforms unexpected post-consumer materials—including credit cards, twist ties, and shattered auto glass—into intricate works inspired by traditional textile patterns. Her art has been exhibited internationally and locally, and she has served as faculty at Moore College of Art and Design and Director of FiberPhiladelphia.
Learn about her creative process and artistic journey, then explore the “Red, White & Blue” textile exhibit featuring contemporary quilts and vintage American flags.
The exhibit is open Saturdays, 1:00–4:00 PM, through August 1.

Southold Historical Museum was pleased to welcome visitors to our Living History Revolutionary Encampment Celebrating America’s Birthday at Maple Lane Campus on Saturday, July 11. It was a wonderful day of history, family fun, and community as we celebrated America’s 250th.
Guests enjoyed an authentic Revolutionary War encampment presented by the Third New York Regiment, children’s games, a Hamilton sing-along, demonstrations, food tastings, vendors, light refreshments, America’s birthday cake, and the very loud live cannon demonstration.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. We are especially grateful to our dedicated volunteers, staff, and the reenactors of the Third New York Regiment. We are especially grateful to the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation and Southold IGA for bringing this memorable event to life.
