Growing nutritious food for community-based farms is Matt’s passion. Having first discovered farming as a volunteer at a CSA outside of Iowa City, he has spent the past 25 years working on farms throughout the Northeast. Understanding that the community’s support is critical to the success of a farm, Matt enjoys improving the accessibility of an operation by simplifying systems and creating opportunities through which the public may lend a hand. He has trained many aspiring farmers over the years, and looks forward to leading this year’s team through the challenges and rewards of the growing season.
Matt looks forward to introducing himself to CSA members, Farmstand customers and community members in the coming months.
2026 CSA Registration Opens January 30 at 9am
Sign up for a 21-week share of fresh, locally grown produce, berries, flowers, and herbs. Your early support provides crucial funding for the farm’s seeds, soil, equipment, farm apprentices and more, ensuring that we can deliver the highest quality produce throughout the season.
CSAruns from June 13-October 31 and is $785 or about $37/week. During the height of the summer season the weekly value can extend well past your investment, when higher-value crops come in and CSA share values might be $40, $50, or even $60 worth of weekly produce. The best way to get the most out of your share is to participate in the weekly pick up experience and to participate in the pick-your-own options.
Farmstand Credit is a great option for those who don’t want to commit to the CSA. A $500 Farmstand credit gives you a total value of $550. Farmstand credits can be used at the Farmstand at any time for one calendar year.
Don’t miss out—sign up on January 30 and be part of our 2026 CSA family. We can’t wait to grow for the Shelter Island community!
