Union Chapel in the Grove, located in Shelter Island Heights, is a long standing non-denominational Island institution where all are welcome. The chapel, constructed in 1875-76 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is particularly noted for its four memorial windows – one with Tiffany glass lilies and two of marine mosaics. The latter, the work of local artist Walter Cole Brigham, contain unique seashell compositions.

Please join the Sylvester Manor community on Sunday, August 25th at a service dedicated to Sylvester Manor to be held outdoors at Union Chapel in the Grove at 10:30am.

Galen Guenguerich, PhD, Senior Minister of All Souls Unitarian Church in New York City and noted author and columnist, will give a sermon focusing on our relationship to the world around us through the plants and animals that provide our sustenance. Manor musicians of many ages will participate in the service.

Sylvester Manor Sunday is part of a series at Union Chapel where different community organizations are invited to the chapel. The services are ecumenical and all denominations are welcome.
