William Ris Gallery is pleased to present the fourth annual exhibition featuring members of the Full Moon Arts Collective, opening Saturday, October 3, with an opening reception from 2–5 PM.
This year’s exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Gina Gilmour, a beloved member of the collective whose passing last December was a tremendous loss to the group and to all who knew her.
Gina was an active and valued participant in Full Moon Arts Collective. She generously shared her artwork, personal insights, and stories from a colorful and accomplished life in New York City. A selection of Gina’s work will be included in this year’s exhibition, offering visitors an opportunity to experience her artistic voice and celebrate her remarkable spirit.
For four years, William Ris Gallery has had the pleasure of exhibiting the work of the Full Moon artists, whose diverse practices encompass painting, photography, mixed media, collage, conceptual art, sculpture, and poetry. The artists’ individual perspectives and experiences continually inform and inspire one another, creating an ongoing exchange of ideas and creative energy.
As the collective describes its philosophy:
“Each of the artists in the Full Moon Arts collective has a long and distinguished career in various disciplines, from painting to photography, mixed media, collage, conceptual art, sculpture and poetry. Learning from each other influences the work of each member of the group. We expect to be challenged and enlightened by our fellow artists and all share in the joy of creating new works that are achieved through our joint experiences and exposure to each other’s talents and insights.”
The exhibition brings together the work of Valerie Zeman, Steve Palumbo, Mike McLaughlin, Jane Kirkwood, Jonathan Pearlman, Liz Malunowicz, Anna Jurinich, and Peter Beston and Ronnie Wiener along with a collection of work by GINA GILMOUR.
Visitors are invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Saturday, October 3, from 2–5 PM. The gallery will also raise a glass in remembrance and celebration of Gina.
