Tara Rider, Ph.D. will be joining us for an exciting talk just in time for the end of Women’s History Month. In the predominantly male world of seafaring, metaphors about mysterious and destructive femininity have been consistently linked to the sea. Yet flesh and blood women sailed on ships, steered them, commanded them, commandeered them and sank with them. Spanning the globe and centuries, female pirates have sailed the seas, captivating audiences both in their own times and today.

Come explore the history of these notorious female pirates and decide whether they were rogues, she-devils, or trailblazers?

Artists of all skill levels are welcomed to join us for our en plain air art classes hosted by artist and teacher Howard Rose! This summer you will be able to join us for six classes at different beautiful and historic locations in the Bridgehampton area.
