Coming Soon to ICP |
|
ICP is proud to present three new exciting exhibitions this winter, Eugène Atget: The Making of a Reputation, Latitudes: Nuits Balnéaires and François-Xavier Gbré, and HARD COPY NEW YORK, open January 29 through May 4, 2026.
Eugène Atget: The Making of a Reputation: Curated by ICP’s creative director David Campany, this exhibition takes a new approach to the story of French photographer Eugène Atget’s career, examining the role that Berenice Abbott played in shaping his posthumous influence.
Latitudes: Nuits Balnéaires and François-Xavier Gbré: Presented in partnership with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès and the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in Paris, Latitudes: Nuits Balnéaires and François-Xavier Gbré highlights new work by two laureate artists from Côte d’Ivoire—Nuits Balnéaires and François-Xavier Gbré.
HARD COPY NEW YORK: An expanded iteration of curator Aaron Stern’s ongoing project, this group exhibition explores contemporary uses of the photocopied image, drawing on the visual language of the copy machine to evoke nostalgia for a time of more deliberate picture making.
Join us on opening day for a special conversation and book signing, Latitudes In Conversation—Nuits Balnéaires and François-Xavier Gbré, on Thursday, January 29 at 1 PM–2:30 PM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Become a member today and be the first to experience these exhibitions at our exclusive preview on January 28 at 7 PM. ———————- Header: Nuits Balnéaires, Adama et Awa 3, from the series Eboro, 2025 © Nuits Balnéaires; François-Xavier Gbré, Salon VIP, gare de Bouaké, from the series Radio Ballast, 2024 © François-Xavier Gbré, ADAGP, Paris, 2025; Eugène Atget, Pontoise, Place du Grand Martroy, 1902 (printed 1919–27). International Center of Photography |

Exhibition support is generously provided by ICP Collections Committee members – Jane Corkin, Constance Jaeggi, George Krupp, Monika Parekh, Douglas Pugh, Elizabeth Walton, Simon Zafrany, and Alice Sachs Zimet. Exhibitions at ICP are supported, in part, by Caryl Englander, Almudena Legorreta, ICP Board of Trustees, the Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller Fund, and with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. Established in 2024 by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, and the International Center of Photography (ICP), the Latitudes program supports international photographic creation by assisting in the making and dissemination of new work. Each year, a laureate selected by the three partner institutions is awarded a grant to produce an original photographic series. This body of work is then exhibited in Paris at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, in New York at the ICP, and in the laureate’s home country. To further extend its reach, a dedicated publication is co-published with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès. By supporting artists from regions underrepresented on the international stage, Latitudes invites us to broaden our perspectives and explore new photographic horizons. |
