Lake Agawam, Southampton
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Old Trees is Georgian house clad in shingles, designed by architect Goodhue Livingston for his wife, whose parents, the Robbs, lived next door at the Dolphins (by Mckim, Mead & White). The plans for both houses are quite similar with entrance foyers that open to public rooms running horizontally to maximize the views of the lake. Upstairs, multiple bedrooms line double loaded corridors. — Copy & photograph courtesy of Anne Surchin (click to see Houses of the Hamptons in AAQ’s Resources / Education / Books).
