HOW ART HEALS
with guest author Shaun McNiff
After a tour of the exhibition Terence Netter: Visions and Revisions Revisited with Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, Shaun McNiff, author of the celebrated Trust the Process: An Artist’s Guide to Letting Go, Art as Medicine, Art Heals and other books, will reflect on how his college studies with Netter influenced his life work. Years later, Netter wrote to McNiff expressing fascination with what McNiff had done in advancing healing through art.

AFTER GREAT PAIN:
Art and Bereavement
Joyce Raimondo’s work expresses her movement through grief following the loss of her brother as a young adult to a celebration of life and hope in her later colorful abstract paintings. Program given in conjunction with The North Shore Public Library’s exhibition AFTER GREAT PAIN featuring paintings and mixed media works by Raimondo.

MoMA Programs for People
who are Blind or Have Low Vision
How can visitors with vision loss experience MoMA’s paintings by Vincent van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and others? Guest speakers Francesca Rosenberg, Director of Access Programs and Initiatives, and Annie Leist, Associate Educator in Access Programs and Initiatives, both from The Museum of Modern Art’s Learning and Engagement Department, will inform audiences who are blind or have low vision of the many available resources and share program methodologies with museum educators and other professionals to make art available for all.
