Podcast premiere this Sunday!

Our Executive Director, Alexandra Wolfe and Curator, Lauren Brincat, were among the guests interviewed for the WFUV.org radio podcast focused on the remarkable stories of seven Black New Yorkers who have shaped New York history. Alexandra and Lauren discussed Jupiter Hammon (1711–ca.1806), one of the first published African-American authors who wrote and was enslaved on Long Island.

New programs launched this year such as the Jupiter Hammon Project, and our foundational activities that include exhibitions, curatorial and archival projects as well as our preservation advisory services, public events, and virtual programming are making a difference in the way people understand their place in history.
