With Their Special Guest Vocalist Marshall Crenshaw!
Formed in 1980 in New Jersey, The Smithereens, comprised of Jim Babjak, Dennis Diken, Mike Mesaros, and the late Pat DiNizio, have been a driving force in rock’n’roll for over four decades. With a sound rooted in their Garden State origins, the band has released 17 albums and performed over 2500 live shows, garnering a global fanbase. Hits like “Blood and Roses,” “Only a Memory,” and “A Girl Like You” have solidified their place in rock history.
The Smithereens have conquered stages worldwide including the Meadowlands Arena, Radio City Music Hall, and more while sharing bills with iconic acts like Tom Petty, Squeeze, and The Ramones among others. Even their television appearances include MTV, The Tonight Show, Conan O’Brien, and Saturday Night Live.
Despite facing challenges like the passing of DiNizio in 2017, the band persists, continuing to tour with rotating guest vocalists and releasing new music. Their resilience was recognized in 2019 when they were inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, and their legacy endures through ongoing projects like the Grammy Museum’s “New Jersey Legends” exhibit and the celebration of their 44th anniversary as a band!
