This Week at the LIM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our most recent At Home With LIM virtual tour dives into the life and work of the most important artist in our collection, William Sidney Mount. In this short introductory film, footage takes you inside Mount’s former home and studio, and takes you back to the site of several of his most famous works. This film on one of America’s most significant pre-Civil War artists, William Sidney Mount (1807-1868), offers a brief overview of his life and career. Footage explores the Hawkins-Mount Homestead where the artist lived and painted and returns to several locations to compare views of the sites of his paintings some 170 years later. The Long Island Museum, in Stony Brook, New York, is the main repository for Mount’s art and archives.
